Daily Life in the Home
   DAILY LIFE IN THE HOME

Our aim is for the customer to set their own daily agenda whenever possible, within the confines of communal living. The following information is intended only as a guide for customers and wherever possible we will adapt to meet individual needs.

Getting up / going to bed
This choice is left very much up to the individual wherever possible and we will try to oblige as close as possible to the desired time. We do ask for some patience from the customers as it is impossible to always meet requests owing to unforeseen circumstances which may occur from time to time. If this happens staff will endeavour to inform customers of any likely delays.

Personal Care
Our carers are all trained to encourage customers to carry out as much of their own personal care as they are able and we will assist wherever needed. Our motto is – “we are her to do what you cannot do for yourself”. We maintain a high standard of personal care for our service users, whilst letting you decide what you want do for yourselves.

Whenever possible we encourage our customers to get up, wash and dress as we feel it enhances quality of life. We do however respect your right to remain in bed if that is your request.

Meal Times
Our meals are served in our pleasantly furnished dining room or can be served in rooms if the customer wishes. . Menus consist mainly of traditional British fare, but our kitchen manager is always looking for alternative meals to cook and would welcome your suggestions. We use a four-week rolling menu that is changed regularly during throughout the year.

The majority of our food is cooked on site and wherever possible we use local suppliers and produce and ensure a high standard of home cooking. Some special diets can be catered for; this will need to be discussed during your pre-admission assessment to ensure we can meet your requirements.
