The home is staffed 24 hours a day by “waking” staff which includes a qualified nurse with a current relevant N.M.C. [Nursing Midwifery Council] registration on every shift.

Our manager has over 15 years experience of care of the elderly and has achieve her Registered Managers Award in Care. Her team of nurses have also worked in this field for many years.

Alongside the nursing staff there is a dedicated team of carers all of whom provide a high quality of care for our customers in a friendly but professional manner. They are ably supported by a team of cooks and housekeeping staff who also play a major part in the life of the home.

We support and encourage our staff with on going training, many of whom have completed an NVQ in their field or are training towards one. This improves their skills and so enhances the care we can give. We also have a comprehensive in house training policy to ensure the staff we employ maintain the standards we set.

Our proprietor has previous hands on experience in elder care and has been involved at Glencoe since 1999, following previous experience of management in several enterprises thus ensuring the ongoing financial security demanded by a successful nursing home.

Neither the manager or proprietor is resident at the home, but the manager or her deputy are always on call and live within a 10-mile radius of the home. The manager is generally on duty between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, but other arrangements can be made if necessary.
